5 Steps to Success
What’s your goal? Weight loss? Business success? A better relationship?
You’ve made your Dream Board. You’ve said affirmations ad nauseum and you’re still not experiencing the success you want. If this describes you (assuming that your goal is realistic), there’s a good chance that something just out of conscious reach is blocking you.
But how do you discover that “something” and how do you eliminate it? Let EFT help.
Step One: Imagine as vividly as possible being successful, achieving your goal. Take time to step fully into the picture. What does success look like? What thoughts pop into your head? And very importantly, how does achieving your goal feel? If, like many others, you feel anxious and overwhelmed when you imagine yourself successful, read on.
Step Two: Ask yourself what you think/feel would be the inevitable conflicts or negative associations with becoming successful. For example:
If I become successful….
- My family or friends will criticize me.
- It’s not possible. I’ve tried and failed.
- I’ll be too visible. It’s not safe.
- I won’t have enough personal time.
- I’m not perfect yet. I’m not good enough.
- I don’t deserve success.
Write down your own answers–the beliefs standing in the way of your success.
Step Three: Try to remember where and how you learned those beliefs. Who told you that you weren’t good enough? That you had to be perfect? Recall specific events (especially from childhood) and the feelings and thoughts connected with them. Then do EFT tapping on those memories/beliefs/feelings until they are neutralized. (If you want my help, go to learn EFT or, better yet, call me at 971-506-0498.)
Step Four: Do alternate tapping. Tap one round on each belief/feeling on your list and then tap the next round on its opposite, i.e., how you wish to feel or the belief you choose to have. (You can also alternately tap left and right sides of your face/body.) Be open to any empowering alternatives that allow you to be successful and serve your other needs and desires.
Step Five: Finally, and very importantly, hold your success picture vividly in mind and tap continuously. See yourself acting as your new and empowered self while you’re tapping. Connect with the good feelings of being all you can be, living passionately and fully. Do this on a regular basis, especially when your enthusiasm flags.
Many folks find it difficult to access those positive feelings and images at first. Stay with it until impossibility turns to probability and then to reality. Commit to your vision. The more you can see and feel yourself in your success picture, the more you will be energized around what you need to be and do to achieve your goal. You CAN live your dream!
The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.
